About us
Hallonbos kennel?Who's that? Well, It's the Toftehag family. It's
myself Linda, my husband Hans and our two daughters Mikaela and Pernilla age 16 and
13 years old. And our dogs of course. We have today two dogs living together with
us. One leonberger and one Welsh Springer Spaniel. We live in Lindome just outside
Gothenburg in Sweden. Pictures of family We got our kennel name from the area and the road we are living in. The road
is called Hallonvägen which means Rasberry road in English. Both Hans and I have been interested in dogs all our lives. Hans had owned a
German shepard in his younger days. But I had not the opportunity to have a dog
of my own when I grow up. When we met about 20 years ago we decided to get a dog
together. Hans had been in contact with Lotta and Rolf Petré at Mathoaka's
kennel a few years earlier, and couldn't forget their lovely dogs. Me myself
had a somewhat smaller breed in mind, but I let myself be talked into visiting
Lotta and Rolf. Ohhh, they were hugh......and just lovely. Perhaps not the best
choice for "the first dog". But what do you do when you are in
love...... Mathoaka's Just Incredible called "Nisse" came to us in November
1990. He was a lovely dog. We went to a lot of shows with him and he manage to
get 2 CAC. Unfortunately he had a minor HD and we chose not to use him for
breeding. But both his sister Mathoaka's Surprise in the Grass "Molla"
and brother Mathoaka's Something Special "Hebbe" had off springs . A few years went by and our daughters were born. And in that time it was
enough to have one dog in the house. When Nisse left us in 1999 we did not get
us a new one until a few years later. We felt we didn't have the time needed to
raise a puppie. But in 2004 Mathoaka's Skymning "Anita" came
into the house. We went on several shows with her. Unfortunately she hurt her
knee very bad in an accident and the vets could not fix it so we had to say good
bye to her much too early. She only became 5 years. At the moment we only have one leonberger and that's our Finnish import
Namupalan Vanilla N'Cream "Humla" (Humla is Bumble bee in English).
Humla is just a bit over 1 year old. She is a lovely dog and has already made
success in the Show rings. All our family loves dogs and all of us takes a very active part in them. I
finished the Swedish kennel clubs breeder education a few years ago and since
early spring I am secretary in the Swedish Leonberger club. It's very nice to
have contact with people who share the same interest as yourself. Picture welsh But we have another breed aswell.... much smaller in size but she really lets
everyone know she's around! A lovely Welsh Springer
Spaniel! In 2006 she entred our house and nothing will ever be the same
again. So full of life, always ready for new adventures. It's Dagsländans Alma "Hallon" .
She became three years in May and we are now expecting puppies. It's really
